Any company or organisation in the UK carrying controlled waste must be registered by the governing agency applicable to their operating area(s). This does not apply to waste produced by the organisation themselves, apart from in the construction industry where businesses carrying their own waste must also be registered carriers.
Companies are registered and monitored by the Environment Agency in England and Wales, in Scotland by SEPA and in Northern Ireland registration is through NIEA (formerly EHSNI).
Not only does this carrier's license form an integral part of the Duty of Care to protect the environment and people from illegal dumping of waste, it is also an offense to carry waste without being a registered carrier.
PHS Wastetech is fully compliant with all laws and regulations controlling the waste management industry and due to our coverage in England and Northern Ireland, PHS Wastetech are registered with both the Environment Agency and Northern Ireland Environment Agency.
